Andrea’s dressage career began at age twelve when she was given a wonderful opportunity to ride a top class dressage pony. From this start Andrea went on to win National titles and was selected for National Young Rider Squads. In 2000 and 2001 she was named NZ Pony Rider of the Year.

As a young rider Andrea became the youngest New Zealand rider to compete at Grand Prix level. Andrea represented New Zealand on four occasions internationally. Individually Andrea received a first and two seconds. In 2003 she was selected to be a carded athlete and was long listed for the Athens Olympics.

Since Andrea was 18 years old she travelled to Germany through the winter months to further her training and knowledge. Over the years on the National competition circuit Andrea has gone from strength to strength. Winning many prestigious titles, representing NZ on four occasions and training horses successfully through the levels.

In April 2013 Andrea decided that the time was right to relocate to Germany with her talented Stallion Doringcourt. With a goal to continue forward with their training and competition experience with high hopes to successfully Represent New Zealand on the European Circuit with an eye to win NZ a spot at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Andrea is extremely focused on further developing dressage training for New Zealand and is passionately dedicated to passing on a sound and solid training system to her pupils. The journey ahead for Andrea is an exciting one and she invites you to come along and enjoy the sport of dressage and partner her in the quest to international success.

Andrea and her partner Brett Davey are based in Abbendorf, Germany with the Renowned German Trainer Jonny Hilberath. Jonny needs no introduction when it comes to the Dressage World. He has helped many rider’s throughout the world achieve their dreams of Representing their Countries on the world stage, most importantly Jonny helped lead Germany to Team Silver at the London Olympics in 2012.

“Doringcourt and I are so lucky to be based with such a world class Trainer. I feel privileged to be learning the art of the finest level of Dressage from a Master. Doringcourt’s training is headed in a very positive direction and we are so excited about our future.”
